Brianna Shannon: Hi, my name is Brianna, and I am currently finishing my last year of Ocean Science, Geography, and GIS at Dalhousie. When I’m not in the GIS lab, I love being in and surrounded by nature, which I think has led me to love suitability mapping and environmental change monitoring!
Nelene Silva: I am currently in my final year of an Honours degree in Marine Biology, with a minor in Environmental Science and a certificate in GIS at Dalhousie University. I am interested in understanding the relationship between an organism's trophic position and its physical position within the environment (especially in the deep-sea)! Next year, I plan to continue my research in a Master's program at Dalhousie University. Outside of academics, I like to go on hikes, watch shows with my friends and bake!
Polina Afanasyeva: I’m Polina, and I am currently in my third year at Dalhousie University. I’m pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a certificate in GIS. My interest lies in spatial ecology and, specifically, its application to species distribution in freshwater biology. Outside of my studies, I’m big into hiking, reading, and 70s rock.
