FloodRouteFinder Data Sources

The FloodRouteFinder app and all other maps on our website use Canadian open source data. This page contains citations for that data used across our products.

Toronto Data

• Flood Plain polygons were obtained from Esri open data.
• Road, neighborhood and hospital shapefiles were downloaded from the Toronto open data portal.

Canada-wide Data

Precipitation deviations, current and live flooding footprints were obtained from the Government of Canada's open data portal.

Lac St-Pierre Data

Lac St-Pierre flood extent polygons were found at the University of Colorado's flood observatory portal.

Digital Elevation Model

The DEM used in our model was obtained from the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry.
